5 Ways to Use Homeschool in the Woods Timeline Figures

5 Ways to Use Homeschool in the Woods Timeline Figures www.joyinthehome.com

This week in the Review Series, our family has used Homeschool in the Woods Timeline Figures and other products for about six years or more.  I absolutely love how these are non-consumable and can easily be use from kindergarten through high school. Knowing how our family has used the timeline figures every year since we bought them and knowing that I could have easily used them from the beginning of our homeschool journey, I can only tell you that you really will want to get these for your own homeschooling.

Here are 5 ways you can use Homeschool in the Woods timeline figures:

Of course, you can use these for timelines, but I’m not just talking about the timelines on the wall.  We have used a few of the other products that Homeschool in the Woods sells and I love their timelines that you can make for your notebooks.

I have had my children color the timeline figures to add their own touches to the ones that we printed out for our lessons.

The Homeschool in the Woods Timeline Figures starts with creation and can easily be added to your Bible lessons.

Make a booklet for your children to make their own little book of facts from a person or event that they have learned about in the Bible.

Notebook Pages

If you assign a notebook page for your children to write for one person at a time, these timeline figures are perfect for these assignments.

You are able to take each figure and size it to the proportions that you desire, making it perfect for creating your own notebook pages for your children.

We love journals!  We use these for our science assignments for all four years of high school. The timeline figures include scientist and some inventions that can easily be added to your journals. With some color from your children, these time timeline figures come to life in their journals.

Binder Books

It didn’t take us long to fall in love with these timeline figures and I started to try to contemplate ways to use them along side the assignments that my children needed to accomplish in homeschooling.

Inspired by the notebook timeline, my daughter and I came up with taking three card stock papers and turn it into a Binder Book, allowing us to utilize the ideas of a lapbook, but capture it in a storable notebook binder book.

These quickly became our history assignments through high school and I love how my children have keepsakes to show their own children… when they come along.

We purchase the collection with over 1,260 figures and I have never regretted it. Our only complaint is that there isn’t a second collection to add even more timeline figures to our growing keepsakes.

I love these ideas!!! Thanks for sharing. Do you have a unique way to use their other products?

Amanda, I have used several of their other products but used them as they were intended, so at this point, I don’t have any unique ways to use them.

We do use their maps in our binder books and for geography.

      Hope that helps!

I would love to see closeups or to get a better feel for the use in high school history. I have the CD and I’ve inserted them into notebooking pages before, but I’m interested in the binder book concept–only with more timeline figures and fewer foldables.
